February brings about the end of Folkstyle wrestling and ACP wrestling. Nate had a pretty good year on both the club circuit and the school circuit.
He placed 2nd at the Thorobred classic.
He placed 1st at the Newell Barney Invitational at the start of the ACP season.
Jared upped his game in the coaching realm. Last year he volunteered with the junior high. This year ACP Erie hired him as an assitant coach at the high school. So, along with that came coaching the junior high as well. It was awesome and gave Jared and Nate some extra time together.
Nate is usually the smallest weight on his team. However, this year, there were two kids who were the same size as Nate. So instead of wrestling 73lbs, Nate wrestled up two weight classes and wrestled 83's. This allowed the other boys to get some experience wrestling. It also made Nate really push himself because he was giving up 10 lbs! He still tore through all the competition. He didn't lose one match.
And. He is a 2-time EVC Champion.
He was also named MVP for ACP for the school year.
Everything Nate touched this year turned to gold.
I am super proud of his willingness to push himself and to want his teammates to get experience and get better.
He truely is the most outstanding kid!
